 Description

To be determined: we hook something into the stk search, or we need to provide something more advanced (most forum software allow searches by author, dates, thread titles, content, ...)

Other concern: How to generate links ?

  • allow modules to plug in their search model in the generic stk search ? (irrelevant here, but might be an interesting topic)
  • Configuration for this would probably be redundant with most dialogs of the forum paragraphs.
    • This might call for a "forum pages configuration" bean where one defines the location of the necessary pages
      • would allow for multiple configurations, hence multiple forums on the same instance
      • could also be used for "nice urls"
      • could work well in conjunction with "folders"

The same problem exists with RSS feeds - currently, URLs are generated via parameters passed in a forward by a virtual uri ...

Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on issues with a higher impact, and more votes.
Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog for some time now with very little movement.
I'm going to close this to set expectations so the issue doesn't stay open for years with few updates. If the issue is still relevant please feel free to reopen it or create a new issue.
