Currently feeds are relying on a virtual uri rewrite, so even passing credentials in the url does not work for forums that require authentication. Netnewswire allows users to add username/password to the feed (using http simple auth I believe), but unfortunately, hitting a protected feed returns a blank page. Perhaps returning a 401 http code would do ? |

Use and accept URI authentication: http://[username]:[password]@[domain]/[path] For our forum if possible under HTTPS. |

On Windows Server 2003 and Windows 7:The rssForum doesn't feeds any rss client, as the HTTP response is 200 but empty. All Forum which are protected and need a login as 'Internal' and 'Partner' are affected. Open forums are processed correct. The rssThread delivers a feed on a protected thread in the browser readers while you're logged in. It will not read further feeds. In all other RSS reader rssThread response with an empty body, as above. Reproduce: Use any Windows, use any browser login to http://forum.magnolia-cms.com/forum.html and click the RSS icons on the different level. On Mac OS 10.6:The 'Internal' rssForum doesn't feeds any rss client, as the HTTP response is 200 but empty. Forum which are protected and need a login are affected. Open forums and the 'Partner' forum are processed correct. |
