 Description

Currently the forums-list paragraph displays all available forums, and forum nodes are expected to be children of the workspace's root. It could be useful if one could group forums in folders and/or with keywords.

The forum-list template could still render all forums, including those in folders. Some forums could be at top-level, some under folders. Additional dialog options:

  • list only forums under such or such folder
  • optionally do not list forums under folders

Listing folders under forums - examples:
http://forum.hardware.fr/ - forums are displayed as 1-line list under each category (folder)

http://community.invisionpower.com/ - each forum is "wrapped" in its folder (example folder is "Invision Power Services, Inc." or "IPS Customer Services" etc) - corresponds pretty much to our current layout.

Voting this up. This feature would be useful for excluding the Page Comments forum (which isn't really a forum, just moderated like on) from the Forum List paragraph.

Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on issues with a higher impact, and more votes.
Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog for some time now with very little movement.
I'm going to close this to set expectations so the issue doesn't stay open for years with few updates. If the issue is still relevant please feel free to reopen it or create a new issue.
