Using Java/JDK 8 + Tomcat 8 RC5 will result in weird image colors (see attached screenshot jvm_1.8.0-ea-b119.png Java: java version "1.8.0-ea" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0-ea-b119) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.0-b61, mixed mode) Tested with ;java version "1.8.0_45" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_45-b14) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.45-b02, mixed mode) openjdk version "1.8.0_91" OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_91-b14) OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.91-b14, mixed mode) Both instances had the images properly rendered. |

Getting another set of colors with jvm (jvm_1.8.0_11-b12.png java version "1.8.0_11" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_11-b12) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.11-b03, mixed mode) |

I got the following result: (jvm_1.8.0_20-b24.jpg java version "1.8.0_20" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_20-b24) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.20-b22, mixed mode) On the other side - on my next 5 test runs everything worked like a charm. No exceptions, all colors properly displayed. So to me it looks like we didn't spot the real combination of factors that produces the error. |

I realized that the filter version (2.0.235) is from 2006 - unfortunately updating to the "latest" (2.0.235-1 from 2012) doesn't solve the prob... |

We had the same problem at our customer project. There was only one way to fix this issue. To update from JAVA 1.7 to this Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_101-b13) But in we used Tomcat 7. |
