 Description

When you try to upload a greyscaled PNG picture to magnolia, the imaging engine treats it as an RGB picture and the result is often a too bright picture.

We are suspecting the java.awt.2DGraphics to be the culprit.

Hi Kjell Arne,

Can you supply us with a input image and the resulting output image? Also, the configuration you are using for the imaging module would be helpful to reproduce the problem.

Cheers

portrait_not_ok.png is of a type that will be too bright when handled with imaging module.
You will actually see the same problem in Jira as well!

Given the thousands of other issues we have open that are more highly requested, we won't be able to address this issue in the foreseeable future. Instead we will focus on issues with a higher impact, and more votes.
Thanks for taking the time to raise this issue. As you are no doubt aware this issue has been on our backlog for some time now with very little movement.
I'm going to close this to set expectations so the issue doesn't stay open for years with few updates. If the issue is still relevant please feel free to reopen it or create a new issue.
