 Description

The Resources app provides a good overview over the resource files currently in use. I think it still falls short of being truly useful for beginners and advanced users, especially if things are not all green.

Hence I'd like to propose the following additions:

  • We should make it easier to find a particular resource file by offering a sortable, flat list of all resource files in use and a way to search for files.
  • We could offer more info about a selected file or folder, in particular its full path.
  • We can offer a way to show all resource files overriden by a particular resource. This helps in understanding the complete picture and in analyzing possible resource loading problems.
  • We provide a more complete set of actions for working with resource files by allowing to create and delete folder to organize them, to upload an archive of resource files and to download files.

Linking this epic to the phasing-out of the "Templates" app. That epic also describes a first round of improvements to the "Resources" app.

Please also support the "standard" JCR functions for JCR resources, which in addition to the ones you already list above would also include:

  • Duplicate Node
  • Import XML
  • Export XML
  • Show Versions

This is related to my support request: SUPPORT-5430

Thank you!
