Please note this is not a bug of the tools module. This issue tracker is intended for reporting problems with Magnolia or requesting new features. For this kind of questions please use user list or open a support ticket if you have a support contract.

To answer your question anyway, there is a message workspace in your Author repository, however this workspace is missing at your Public repository hence the error is thrown when the update task tries to access it. If this this workspace is to be created by a module, this module is not installed at your Public instance. If the workspace has been created manually by updating your repositories.xml at Author, this change hasn't been done at your Public and you need to reconfigure your repositories.xml at Public accordingly.

Magnolia tools are not yet migrated for usage with Magnolia 5.
