 Description

If I create a favorite that points to e.g. a particular page in the tree of the Pages app, clicking that favorite will open the Pages app and the favorite will be selected. However, the page pointed to by the favorite not always visible.

That attached screenshot shows a case, where I'm linking to a particular page deep inside the glossary of the demo project. Note that the URI shown in the status bar indicates that the page got selected, however:

  • the lazy-loading of the list doesn't seem to work correctly: it doesn't load the corresponding area of the list
  • the selected item is not visible.

This is critical issue as this has been reported by users as reason why the favorites appear to be unfinished and even broken.

Looks like it is a FF related issue where I could reproduce it. I used the latest current version, i.e. 29.0.1. I also tested it with Safari and Chrome both on 5.2.4 and 5.3-SNAPSHOT and it works. True it's the last item selected but it's visible. Attached a screenshot.

Interesting finding, thanks for the research. We have many reports of this type of focusing problems - could they be FF only? And in general, or only for favorites (see MGNLUI-2923)?

The problem is indeed that the selected item is typically not visible at all. I'd certainly like the item to be further up, so that it's not easily missed, but this is already a lot better than reported and researched so far.

Linked to a recently fixed issue. This is now a duplicate and can be closed.
