(Somehow I thought I reported this years ago but I can't find the ticket, forgive me if it does exist somewhere) When a user wants to change their language, there's a good chance that means they're not comfortable with the current one. Therefore, the list of languages should be displayed in a way that they can at least recognize one. Safest bet is to have each language name .. in its own language See attached screenshot for how confusing it can be, if you don't know how "English" is spelled in Chinese. |

Here's a patch. While I was at it I simplified the construction of the label, by using Locale.getDisplayName() which does exactly what we were doing manually, for some reason. Some open questions from me
