 Description

Reproduce steps:
1. In node /server/i18n/content, I have a configuration as in configuration.png picture
2. Create a custom content app with multiple language enable
3. Open the content app and add a new record, the observation in the observation.png picture
4. exptected result: the default language is selected as in expected.png picture.

Only version 5.3.9 has this bug, version 5.3.7 works well.

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is really a bug, or the behavior of the 5.3.7 was a bug.

I don't see a default language configured, which default language you expect? (fallbackLanguage?)

I think it uses the i18n configuration of the "default" site definition.
Could chou add a print screen of you "default" site definition?
(Apps -> STK -> Site defintions)

Regards,
Christian

I am using CE edition, so I cannot configure language in site definition.
With CE edtion then no multiple sites so we don't need defaultLanguage but I have tried it and it does not work too.

You can't have multiple sites with different default languages in CE. This is enterprise feature and is not supported on community.

Hi Jan,

Maybe a misuderstanding here, I don't need multiple site, I need just one site with 2 languages, when I setup fallbackLocale (defaultLocale) is en then it is automatically selected by default when I add a new record in a content app, this is expectation behaviour.
This feature works well until version 5.3.9.
Please ignore comments from Christian, he mentions about EE edition, my explanation are in the issue description and for CE edition.

Thank you

This issue occures on multisite environments, too.

Reproducable on demoauthor, if you add an i18n property to a contact app detail form field: https://demoauthor.magnolia-cms.com/.magnolia/admincentral#app:contacts:detail;/vvangogh:edit

Ok, I set the fix version to 5.3.10. Should be available then.

Cheers
Rich

I see, I might have been too quick when reading over the description, it's indeed valid. If this was working before 5.3.9, my bet would be on MGNLUI-3221 to be the cause of this problem.

Sorry, I have to push this back to 5.3.11. The change log for 5.3.10 is full.
