| Description |
|
Vaadin have released a new implementation for a list and a matrix of items called the "Grid" component. This component solves many performance and usability problems we have in our views. It will also allow us to add improvements (e.g. inline detail views) and new features (e.g. small image previews in rows and checkboxes in headers to select all items), making views more useful and also increasing their usability. However, "Grid" does not support and drag and drop operations *nor the hierarchical display of data. Our intention is thus to *sponsor Vaadin for the development of both features. Once these features will be available, we'll replace our existing Table component with Grid and TreeTable with TreeGrid. That will set us up to finally tackle many of our long-standing problems we've had. This story allows us, our partners and our customers to track our progress on this matter. |

We've reached an agreement for a sponsored development. Planning has already started. Implementation is expected to take several weeks and should be completed by end of September. |
