 Description

Sometimes data is obscured when column is too narrow, here a tooltip would be helpful.

There are several instances where I think tool tips would be helpful. I agree that this is one of the cases, where they make sense. To capture some ideas of a quick discussion I've had with Christopher - in order to prevent tooltips to be shown all the time, we could:

  • show tool tips only for columns, which are smaller than a certain pre-defined width
  • make it configurable that tool tips only show for certain apps (and there maybe even for certain columns?). E.g. they might make sense in the Configuration app, but not in the Contacts app
  • show tool tips on pause (but then show the next tool tip instantly , if you move to a different row in the same column)
