 Description

User story

As an Editor, I can drag and drop one or multiple files into the workspace to upload assets, so I don't have to go to the action bar and open a dialog first.

Acceptance criteria

  • The editor can drag and drop one or multiple files into the DAM browser app
  • Show hover effect when navigating with the asset 'in hand' to a folder in the grid
  • If the asset is dropped into a folder, the asset is placed into that folder
  • If no folder is selected, the asset is placed at the root
  • If a zip folder is dropped, a folder with the zip name is created (archive.zip = Archive)
  • No Meta Data dialog is prompted, even if there are required fields (same as zip upload today)

Assumptions for estimation

  • I can drop multiple assets.
  • Metadata dialog is not prompted. Behaves the same way as zip upload today.
  • Assume that Vaadin provides a control that allows drag and drop into browser subapp.

Estimate is for investigation only.

This ticket will be redundant with the implementation of the new solution for bulk uploads, with MGNLDAM-1316
