 Description

User story:

As an application developer, I want to lay out form components (fields) into groups and sections, so that I reduce visual clutter for users and make it easier for them to fill complex forms.

As an application developer, I want to define form field layouts in the form definition, so that I don't have to use a completely different mechanism for layout. Default and tab layouts are already configurable in the form definition. I want to do other layouts the same way.

Business benefits for users:

  • Related fields are easier to identify.
  • Reduces visual clutter. Shows only relevant information.
  • Easier to focus on smaller, more manageable groups of fields.

Acceptance criteria:

  • Support the first 3 alternative form layouts: Line separators, Group titles and Accordion.
  • DevX: Make form layout configurable in the form definition using in YAML and JCR configuration.
  • Custom layouts are supported via Vaadin declarative syntax ( Done in Magnolia 6.1)
