Find bar's app search supplier always prompts the same static 3 apps (typically Pages, Assets, Contacts), at least when ranking is not available or on fresh installs. As users usually navigate back and forth between multiple apps, finding recently opened apps always involves going back to the app-launcher, or type-searching for that app again. Since we keep track of running/opened apps in a stack, we can easily present that in recent order, instead of the same static group. Along with keyboard shortcuts, this may become a suitable/familiar/well-integrated presentation for switching apps. |
