 Description

Spin-off from MAGNOLIA-7429:

  • Some of our definitions (content apps most critically) inherently require too much boilerplate to get started.

Goals:

  • A flatter app descriptor for typical content apps

Benefits:

  • Easier onboarding with YAML configuration
  • Easier to remember snippets to achieve common tasks
  • Less overhead to learn about Magnolia-specific app components

Hi slutz, just found this. Roman created recently a very similar issue MGNLUI-6207 which I later turned into an epic when demonstrating in that recent meeting about issue hierarchy. MGNLUI-6207 essentially duplicates MAGNOLIA-7429 which was already closed. This particular issue "Simpler app descriptor" seems to be a bit more narrow overlap of MGNLUI-6207 but since it doesn't have child issues yet, maybe it could be superseded by MGNLUI-6207. what do you think ?

Agreed - thanks!
