 Description

MGNLUI-5426 has harmonized dialogs and set their width to be fixed at 740px. That width is too small when using complex layouts. Examples can be found here and on linked tickets.

The M5 UI framework provided an option to set dialogs to be wide and take all the horizontal space available:
Property: wide: true
Details: https://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/display/DOCS61/Dialog+definition

The property to take all horizontal space available will be covered by MGNLUI-5956. Making the width configurable will be covered by MGNLUI-5808. This is the third step of improvement.

AC:

  • Expand button is available on small & medium dialogs.
  • If the dialog is configured as wide, do not show the expand button.
  • Click the expand/collapse button in the top right corner to toggle between the wide and default modes.

avongunten - please add a mock-up for expand/collapse button on a dialog.

Bringing the "wide" parameter back would be a good solution. I guess a lot of users have already set this property in there dialog configs.

Having to many options in the Dialogs creates horizontal Scroll bars:
