Epic Link: UI framework implementation

 Description

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Admincentral
  2. Click Edit User Profile
  3. Select Preferences tab
  4. Enter "Europe/Zurich (Central European Standard Time)" text into Time Zone Field
  5. Hit Tab

Actual behavior

The Time Zone value resets to the old value

Expected behavior

The Time Zone value should update to the newly entered value.

Additional info

Entering partial texts such as "Eur" or "Zu" should show filtered option list in the the Combobox, but no such filtered list is visible.

This bug may impact any field that is based on Combobox. A similar issue is reported on Vaadin by other people https://vaadin.com/forum/thread/16302265/combobox-loses-the-user-input-when-losing-focus-vaadin-8. A workaround would probably be needed to mitigate this issue until Vaadin comes with a fix for it.

I have found a reference to that ticket in a ui-test-fwk self-test (info.magnolia.testframework.selftest.FormTest), I assume that you have created this one while working on ui-test-fwk related things. I "fixed" & enabled the test where you mentioned this ticket, tho the issue as described still exists.

I'm not sure how "worth" the bug, but I understand it.

I see that it has a fix-version, but it is not on the backlog. But I guess it should go to backlog to ensure it will get tackled by the UI FWK team somewhen.

slutz, you wanna add it to the backlog?

rdhar fgrilli  slutz  I set the fix version back to 6.2.3 because removing it and 6.2.4 cause the HC to fail: https://jenkins.magnolia-cms.com/blue/organizations/jenkins/platform%2Ftest-framework/detail/main/20/pipeline

Not sure about a cleaner way to deal with this...
