 Description

Steps to reproduce

In a tree (list) view, use a lot of column filters and full text search at the same time

Expected results

I can go quickly back to not filtering (default) view.

Workaround

I must manually delete content from all text filters and set comboboxes to "All/Any", clear full text search as well

Solution

Implement context menu in the grid/table header. Upon right mouse click show the option to reset filters.

avongunten Do we have a mockup?

rkovarik Not yet. I was thinking of context menu. Can we have different context menu for column header and column rows?

Dai is also working on this https://jira.magnolia-cms.com/browse/MOTION-342, so that would also fit for the columns header context menu.

Your thoughts?

That could work, there is even an old PoC for this ticket https://git.magnolia-cms.com/projects/PLATFORM/repos/ui/pull-requests/1631/overview?commentId=68323

I've seen the video and a context menu for it was my first thought as well

rkovarik perfect then let's do that.

  • sang.ngo's suggestion: a button in the most right column
  • asiska 's suggestion: a button in the most left column (above select boxes)
  • mdivilek 's suggestion: a button in an extension view (the same place as fulltext search in choosers)

Optionally try these if time allows.
