Epic Link: Column filtering

 Description

Current situation

When filtering for an item returns many nodes with the same name (e.g., filter for rename.yaml in resources), there's no other way to find out which one is the one user is looking for other than clicking on each and looking at the status bar or removing the filter and see if you're in the desired point in the tree.

Desired situation

Show the path to distinct the items in a convenient way.

Solution alternatives

  • Add a Path column next to the title column.
  • Add path next to node name (can be visually difficult to balance)
    • Add path greyed out like this /contact/module/dialogs/rename.yaml
    • Add path greyed out like this rename.yaml at ** /contact/module/dialogs/
    • Add path below the node name in smaller font.
  • Show the full path of a focused element in the status bar when there is no selected item.
    • **Optionally show also when selected item - in such case, you could show both selected and focused on two separate rows in status bar.
  • Show a tooltip on hover.
    • Still requires to hover with the mouse over and wait for the tooltip to show.
