 Description

Steps to reproduce

  1.  dialog for components with a required textfield in two languages
  2.  we have to fill in content in both languages or at least the default lang to save the dialog (EN ist default language)
  3. otherwise we have no chance to save (save action does not work)

Expected results

Save the dialog without required fields of default language. For example: English is our default and we also have erman. I want to add my german fields without adding the english version too. This works before when I opened the german layer first and then the english.

Actual results

Dialog cannot be saved without required fields in default language.

sscheffler Thank you for raising this ticket. We are not entirely sure we understand the scenario.

What is the expected behaviour -

  • that you are able to save the dialog with the required fields of the default language only
    or
  • that you are able to save the dialog even without the required fields of the default language?

Thanks for clarifying.

^^ we still need help here

This is expected behavior. The required fields of the default language need to be filled in.

What version of Magnolia were you using before?

If you need more speedy responses, please create a ticket in the SUPPORT project - thank you.

Thank you!

@simonlutz

My colleague just tell me that the problem is not that the required fields need to be filled in, it is that the user did not jumped from the one language layer to the other or get an error message what he has to do. We expected that you get an information what you hav to fill in instead of get nothing. Can you open the ticket again? Do you have a resolution for that. Sorry i got it wrong from our users before.

Indeed - thanks for the feedback. I have created a new ticket here for the mentioned problem: MGNLUI-6830.
