 Description   

Steps to reproduce

  1.  Upload an PNG image in Assets
  2.  Output a focal point rendition of it

Expected results

The resulting PNG renditions should compressed reasonably. (Like it is with the traditional renditions without focal point)

Actual results

The Image is very big. 600x600px -> 1.37 MB

Workaround

Use traditional renditions without focal point for PNG's.

Development notes

See the screenshot where the same image is renditioned in the same size 600x600 with traditional rendition (116KB) and with focalpoint rendition (1.37 MB)

And attached the resulting PNG.

Hello! 

We had a similar issue (see  SUPPORT-14214) with image size of focal area variant.

We have just tried version 2.1 of dam-focal module and discovered that this version doesn't fix the problem for us.

But also we recently updated to magnolia 6.2.15 and this alone fixes the problem.

For old images we had to clean imaging workspace to re-render focal area variants.

Can you please confirm that our discovery is correct / incorrect.
