 Description

Unfortunately the installation description under smart-snippets didn't lead to a successful magnolia 6.1 start.

Steps

  • add dependency to maven pom
  • add dependency to main module descriptor
  • run mvn clean install (and deploy war on a tomcat 9.0.12)
  • start mangnolia

Result is an error  "Oops, Magnolia could not be started" see attachment

Used dependency:

pom

<dependency>
  <groupId>nl.info.magnolia</groupId>
  <artifactId>smart-snippets</artifactId>
  <version>2.1.2</version>
</dependency>

module descriptor

<dependency>
  <name>smart-snippets</name>
  <version>2/*</version>
</dependency>

In overview of Smart Snippets in the wiki the Magnolia Compatibility is shown to 6.0 but not 6.1. In the versions an compatibility table it's shown as 6.x. I didn't know which is the leading table, but I suppose it is the top one.

My request is therefore:

Could you provide a version running under magnolia 6.1?

Hi Runge, I use Smart Snippets module on Magnolia 6.1.2 with smart-snippets version 2.1.3.  Your error log complains about something completelly different:

info.magnolia.module.model.reader.ModuleDependencyException: The following exceptions were found while checking Magnolia modules dependencies (i.e. those in META-INF/magnolia/my-module.xml):
Module Magnolia Language files : German (version 1.0.11) is dependent on google-sitemap (version 2.3.1/* - optional), but Google Sitemap Module (version 2.2.0) is currently installed.

looks like you have incorrect version of Google Sitemap Module installed. Smart snippets module is not using Google Sitemap Module anywhere.

I hope you can solve your issue.

Regards

Mariusz

@Simon Lutz, can you please add 6.1 to compatibility information on Market place ? Also for Templates usage https://marketplace.magnolia-cms.com/detail/templates-usage.html (it works on 6.1)
