Problem

The number of results per supplier is limited, and ranking operates on top of that already clipped list. Therefore, potentially important results might not be bubbled up.

Example

App suppliers are limited to 5 items. If a search now would match more items, the ones below the fold could never be sorted up.

Solution

Suppliers could provide more results than what their limit states (e.g. 2x as many), so ranking would operate on a larger scope and the list could be clipped to said limit only in the end.

It should be considered that the number of items included will be a trade-off between relevance (in terms of smart ranking) and performance.
