site variation: use proxy merge and default object

      Once the site configuration is a simple POJO we can merge by using the proxy merger.

      --> MultiChannelFilter.doFilter(..)

      Similar to the template, we have to provide a default object because the site bean should have null values by default to guarantee a proper merge.
