When the user needs to select more elements than are displayed in the list view so that the missing records are lazy loaded when the user scrolls, selection fails miserably!

Steps to reproduce:

1. open the "Configuration" app
2. search for "*" in the search field so that every config node is displayed
3. select the first line
4. scroll down so that the list view loads more records
5. shift-click a record at the bottom

Expected:
All records between the first one and the one selected with shift-click are selected

Experienced behavior:
Below the list the number of selected records is displayed. You'll notice immediately that this number cannot be right. Scroll slowly back up the list and you will see that there are "gaps" in the selection!
