The title of the Action bar, appearing at the top of the first group of actions, should be equal to the specific type name of the currently selected content item.

We currently have titles like "Asset", "Area" or "Page". This is equal to the name of the content type. The specific content type is - as the name suggests - more specific. Examples are "Image asset", "Document asset", "Internal page teaser", "Content area", "Article page".

Here are the reasons why I'd like to show the specific type name and not, for example, the name or just the type name of an item:

      • It helps to recognize, if I've selected the correct item, if the title is not too generic. The specific type name is just right.
      • Showing the specific type name corresponds with the actions below and thus helps to understand why certain actions are available and why others are not.
      • The title presents a unique opportunity to show the specific type name, which else is rarely visible, although it can be quite useful. The name of an item is shown often - we don't have to repeat it in the Action bar title. The content type is too generic.

In case of multiple items being selected, refer to the least common denominator type name, if possible, but remain specific, if this is feasible, e.g. use "Article pages", if two article pages have been selected, but use "Pages" only, if an article and a non-article page were selected. If this is too complicated to implement, just use "Pages" or "Multiple pages".
