To support UI changes that we're introducing with the new Search Experience, we are bringing in Usability improvements to the Deletion Workflow so that:
As an author, I want to clearly distinguish between different stages of item deletion in the Pages & Assets Apps grid view, enabling me to easily track the deletion process—from the trash bin or archived status, to deletion requests, and final permanent deletion.
We will split the scope of the improvements for the UI and Deletion Workflow into 3 phases, that will be delivered iteratively. The MVP is part of the 6.3 launch.

MVP. Simple deletion UI improvements for the 6.3 launch
The MVP focuses on the simple deletion, without the 4-eye workflow. Changes will be limited to UI improvements and better naming conventions for labels (Status) and actions (Action Bar)
- Introduce the greyed-out status
- in the author instance, the items have been disabled (no action can be executed) when the deletion workflow is initiated
- in the public instance, the item (page/asset) will NOT remain on the public instance (pending spike MGNLWORKFLOW-480)
- Introduce the status label: Trashed
- A visual prompt that these processes were completed successfully
- the item has been trashed
- the item has been restored
- the item has been permanently deleted
- Minor UI styling improvements to the (yellow) Deletion confirmation message
- Revise labels of the actions in the Action Bar to accurately represent the task the user is performing
>> Note. MVP scope is indicated by the Neutral priority in the backlog
Phase 2. Deletion with the 4-eye workflow
In addition to the MVP improvements:
- Introduce the status label: Marked for deletion (we skip: Deletion requested )
- A visual prompt that these processes were completed successfully
- Deletion request sent (see above )
- General UI Improvements bring better naming convention to dialog's titles, CTAs, and Action Bar's titles & actions to better guide the user during the deletion process
- Improve the wording and steps of the Notifications and Tasks flow to reflect the streamlined process
>> Note. MVP scope is indicated by the Low priority in the backlog
Phase 3. Unify the Deletion dialog's experience with the 4-eye works
Following Phase 2 improvements,
Combine the messaging and dialog of the deletion request into one dialog with two tabs:
- The Dependencies tab shows the list of related content, with clickable links
- The Request tab shows the inputs for comment and deletion date
>> Note. MVP scope is indicated by the Minor priority in the backlog
