Scope: Document how to configure the Asset type and Size filters for the Assets app.
Author, Status, and Tag filters are still in progress. --> New doc ticket: MGNLDAM-1432
Size filter config:
See comment from Phong on 1276
- How to customize the number and name of categories and respective ranges. They will depend on the client asset library — 'Small' may mean different things if the asset Library contains many RTF assets or on the other side of the spectrum, contains many Videos.
- List Default Ranges (configurable):
- Small = less than 1 MB
- Medium = 1 to 5 MB
- Large = 5 to 20 MB
- Extra large = greater than 20 MB
- Mention Size filter, which is specific for assets and is only available in the Assets app. It has a dropdown with different categories will show up and the user can filter their data accordingly.
Asset type filter config:
Document the asset type categories that are mapped according to prefixes described below and can be seen in the Asset type filter dropdown. If there are no files of a certain type, eg. audio, then that option isn't presented in the filter.
- Photos: use prefix image/
- all supported images formats like .jpeg .png .svg+xml
- image/ prefix should include support gif e.g. webp
- Documents: .pdf ... anything that doesn't fall under photos/video/audio format will be categorised/mapped as documents
- Videos: use prefix video/
- .mp4, .mpeg, .webm and .ogg
- Audio: use prefix audio/
- .mpeg, .webm, .mp4, .ogg, .aac, .aacp, .flac, .wav, .x-wav and .mp3
